offers a regular full time one year course
in Industrial Safety. A certificate of Post
Diploma in Industrial Safety is awarded to
successful trainees by the Technical Examination
Board of the Government of Gujarat. The diploma
is recognised by the Government of Gujarat
as an essential qualification both for appointment
and retention of the job as Safety Officer
in an industrial establishment (Fee Rs.:20,000). |

One of the hurdles
in organising unorganised labour force is
the conspicuous absence of young grassroots
level workers, willing to work full time in
non-governmental organisations. It is out
of this understanding that the Institute has started
conducting a regular full time one year P.G.
Diploma Course in Labour Studies. The main
objective is to prepare grassroots level workers
who can organise unorganised labour force
and manage the affairs of non Governmental
Organisations more scientifically. They aslo join the industry as labour welfare officers. The course is recognised by the Government of Gujarat (Fee Rs.:20,000). |

The objective
of the course is to equip a person:
(a) to
contribute to the HR function in a commercial
or other organisation or
(b) to provide consultancy
or other services in such areas as industrial
relations, training or retraining, selection
and recruitment, organisation of unorganised
workers, etc.
The course represents a full
time one-year study commencing ordinarily
in the month of July. Any graduate is eligible

shopping malls and departmental stores huge employment opportunities
are opening up in India and abroad. A growth rate of 30 to 40 percent is
estimated in India in the retail sector with the advent of more than 200
